Program Evaluation:

Sally M. Adkin graduated in December of 2000 with a PhD. in Educational Research and Measurement. Sally's duties at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics included Grant Management, School Research, and Program Evaluation. Sally's personal philosophy of program evaluation has been strongly influenced with her summer internship at Western University Evaluation Center and the work of the Joint Committee on the Evaluation Standards. Sally embraces the philosophy of Michael Patton: "The purpose of evaluation is to improve programs and increase the quality of decisions made. This purpose can only be achieved if the evaluation is used. Attention to use must be built in throughout the evaluation design."
